Action: Support the DREAM in Hendersonville!

We would love to have you join us Wednesday, March 12th at 6pm in front of the Henderson County Courthouse with Eva Escamilla’s family to show our support for her and all the other brave people crossing the border this week to reunite with their families. Many of you heard Eva’s daughter, Skarlett, and her niece, Itzel, speak at the Coming Out of the Shadows event last week (which got a nice writeup in the Mountain Xpress).

Around 30 Dreamers presented themselves at the US-Mexico border yesterday, including Francisco Fuentes from Hickory. They are currently detained in San Ysidro, CA. The rest of the group (over 100) will cross the border over the course of this week, including Lupe Juarez (from Marion) and Eva Escamilla.
Here are some pictures and video from yesterday’s crossing.
And some of the best news coverage from around the country:
And we have six new petitions circulating today, asking ICE to allow these North Carolinians to reunite with their families:

Thank you for your support, and don’t forget to wear your yellow t-shirts!
